It has been humid since rainy season starts here.
Cold drinks taste very nice for this time.

Today, I will introduce very very sweet drinks you can get when you come to Shinjuku!

KONACHA, Green tea at SUSHI restaurant

How are you doing??

Green tea is known as Japanese tea in the world, but usually taste a little bit different when we drink out side of Japan... do you notice that??

Some of my friends who come and visit to Japan, always become like Green tea even they didn't like green tea in their country. That is also reason quality or taste of tea is different.

So I always bring tea bag of Green tea when I stay long another country because I miss Green tea taste.

Also lots of my friends love green tea at SUSHI Restaurant, have you notice different with normal green tea?? They are powder tea not leaves.

Powder one is taste strong and making very easy, so I always recommend to bring back in their country when my friend leaving Japan.

Spring time in Japan is meeting and parting season because school finish in March and new year start in April also in company.

You will see lots people having party in IZAKAYA(bar) or restaurant everywhere in Japan.

What is SAKANA KUSHI?

My recommended IZAKAYA restaurant of today is "SAKANA KUSHI (Fish stick)"!!

Can you see these lovely looking?

Surprising thing is this is very good price!!

1 stick with  7 fishes is 210 yen without tax.

Of course there is not only fish also vegetables on menu and deep fry and BBQ style.

Then naturally some of my friends start to change eating behavior by trend.

I am going to introduce GYOZA restaurant in Tokyo today.

The other day I introduced future open SNOOPY MUSEUM in Tokyo.

Today, I found SNOOPY CAFE in TOKYO because I couldn't wait until April!!! 

SNOOPY CAFE officially called "PEANUTS Cafe" that is California style restaurant  in Naka- Meguro.

Japanese food, OSHIRUKO - Sweet red-bean soup

Hi!! Did you have a great new year time??

There are lots foods only for new year time in Japan since we have culture not using water or knife in traditional way on new years day.

Lots of them are taste very Japanese way and maybe not nice to non- Japanese people.

So I will introduce one of them, OSHIRUKO(Sweet red-bean soup) that some my friends like today.

Recipe

What you need : MOCHI(Rice cake), Boiled ADZUKI bean, water, sugar, salt

1.Put boiled ADZUKI bean in the pot, pour water.

2.Open Mochi pack and take of some. About 2 pieces for per person.

3.Put them in the deep bowl and pour enough water to cover MOCHI.

4.Put 3. in the micro wave. 2 or 3 mins in 500W.

5.Cook 1. over low heat with stir.

6.Check taste of 5. if you prefer sweeter, add some sugar and tiny salt makes better taste.

7.Take out 4. from micro wave. Please be careful for heated dish!!

8. MOCHI become soft enough, throw away hot water.

9. Pour ADZUKI soup in the bowl!!

Decorated Handmade Lunch - CHARABEN

Do you know CHARABEN??

We have a culture mother (mostly mother does in Japan) makes lunch for kids when they are students specially school don't have a lunch service as other countries do.

CHARABEN is a lunch that decorated like anime characters, animals, car etc. that starts late '90 or '00, by some mothers.

Mothers have always try their kids to be healthy eater, sometimes mushing up for changes taste, shapes like carrots, green pepper.

Beginning of Charaben it was easy stuff like "octopus sausage", "rabbit apple".

But after early '00, Charaben culture spread more and some mothers start to make more artistic way like these.

Of course some working mothers say "I don't have enough time doing this!!" but still lots mothers quit working when they have babies as housewives on that time in Japan.

In these years Charaben culture a bit slow down, but still popular among kids of course!!
